Lisboeta Macau’s and L’Arc Macau’s Volunteer Team visits Macau Special Olympics
Caring for children with special needs to spread love and warmth

(July 12, 2024 - Macau)To promote care and support for different communities in Macao, Lisboeta Macau and L’Arc Macau organized the “Volunteer Team” to visit the Blissful, Centro de Auxilio Comunitario para Portadores de Deficiencia Intelectual de Macau Special Olympics, spending a pleasant afternoon with children with intellectual disabilities. This visit mainly aimed to raise awareness about the needs of this special group. 

The volunteers began with self-introductions and warm-up activities, followed by engaging the children in craft activities and interactive games. Under their guidance, the children created scratch art and made space shuttle models using paper cups, fully expressing their creativity and imagination. During the game session, volunteers actively joined and played with the children in a circle, passing a beach ball around while music played, creating a joyful atmosphere. Towards the end of the activity, they distributed small gifts to the children and posed for group photos, leaving everyone with wonderful memories. 

Through this visit, the volunteer team aimed to build strong connections with the children with special needs, understand their needs and challenges, and extend their care and support through practical actions. This initiative also further reinforced the team’s commitment to community care and engagement. In the future, Lisboeta Macau and L’Arc Macau will continue to join hand with the “Volunteer Team”, promoting more charitable activities, enhancing community awareness of special groups, and bringing more love and warmth to society.
