L’ Arc Macau Shares Festival Joys
(19th December, 2013 - Macau) To share the festival joys with the guests, L’ Arc Macau displayed a 3-meter tall, colorful "Cake Man" sculpture at the hotel lobby and held a “Cake Man” ribbon cutting and lighting ceremony on 19th December.
The ribbon cutting and lighting ceremony was officiated by Chairman of L’ Arc Macau, Ms. Angela Leong, Vice-chairman, Mr. Li Chi Keung, and the senior management team of L’ Arc Macau. The Chairman of L’ Arc Macau, Ms. Angela Leong expressed in her speeches that L’ Arc has always been passionate to share happiness to their guests through organizing different events. She believes that the introducing of this distinctive colorful “Cake Man” art piece which designed by a renowned artist could amplify and spread out the festive atmosphere to every corner of L’ Arc Macau and share the festival joys to every guests. "Cake Man" is a life-sized sculpture of an aristocrat dressed in elaborate Victoria, with lots of colorful cakes carried on his back. This fabulous art piece is one of the exhibit displays of "Dreaming Rich", the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong of renowned British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA). Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) received his Master of Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London, UK and was graduated as part of the "Young British Artists" generation. His works have been exhibited at the Venice Bienniale and collected internationally at leading museums worldwide.
