L'Arc Macau Volunteer Team visits the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind
(Oct 19, 2015 – Macau) L’Arc Macau continuously fulfills corporate social responsibility by proactively organizing volunteer activities and creates opportunities for staff to participate and give back to the community. On 19th October, L’Arc Macau Volunteer Team visited the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind at Macau Holy House of Mercy to understand more about their daily needs as well as sharing love and care to the blinds.
On the visit day, the Volunteer Team members were being warmly welcomed by the centre’s representatives and their members. After a detailed introduction by the centre’s representative, the Volunteer Team members have an opportunity to learn simple Braille codes with the assistance of the instructor and the blinds. The Volunteer Team members expressed that a sighted person would hardly understand the challenges that a blind person would be facing in daily lives but by participating in the activity, they have experienced the inconvenience of the blinds and can deeply feel the importance of being cared and helped. In future, they would be participating in more volunteer activities to help people in need.
L’Arc Volunteer Team holds organizes caring activities with different social organizations to enable staff to understand more about the meaning of “It is more blessed to give than to receive” and to share more love and care to the needed people in the society.
